Data Dashboard

WADEPS brings together information that historically has been scattered across hundreds of state agencies with no standard for storage, sharing, or comparison. WADEPS also integrates contextual data about law enforcement agencies and the communities they serve to provide a more complete picture of the reportable use-of-force and police-community interactions across the state. 

The WADEPS public dashboards provide common tools for communities, law enforcement agencies, and policymakers to examine reportable police use of force with unprecedented detail and discover meaningful insights. 

Navigation Tips

OPEN: View on a laptop or desktop computer for the best experience.

EXPLORE: Look along the top for different tabs to view different subsets of the data, such as “Who is Reporting”, “What Happened”, or “Who Was Affected”. Click on the tab names to change your view.

FILTER: Click on the light gray “Controls” bar at the top of each dashboard tab to see and select data filtering options.

SCROLL: Use the gray vertical bars inside each block (when available) to see more data and information.

EXPAND: Use the double-arrow icon in the upper right of each block to expand the block to full screen. Click it again to close.

Important to Remember

Achieving full participation will take time. WADEPS processes help reduce duplicate work and provide agencies flexibility for implementation. However, agencies of all sizes across the state can face practical constraints, including leadership changes, limited IT resources, staffing for data entry, and other organizational complexities.

Data quality audits are in progress to identify duplicate records, standardization issues, improper use of the “other” data fields, and similar irregularities. 

Data Downloads

* Filtered data can be downloaded from any dashboard element by clicking on the three vertical dots in the upper right corner of any block and selecting the format. The data provided will reflect any selections made in the filters.

* The full reportable use-of-force data set is quite large, with more than 200 variables for each use-of-force record.  Click to initiate an automatic CSV download to your local computer.

* Summary CAD data is available upon request.
